Air Jordan celebrates 27 years of performance with a pinnacle game shoe built for three styles of flight. The Air Jordan 2012 Deluxe - Wolf Grey/Black-Silver Edition. Available 2/8 at your local House of Hoops.
Fly Around. Fly Over. Fly Through. No matter how you fly, the Air Jordan 2012 is the pinnacle game shoe that caters to your style of play. We’ve taken the AJ 2012 up a notch by building off the 2011’s modularity.
The 27th Air Jordan release was a collaborative design effort by Tinker Hatfield and Tom Luedecke who drew inspiration from the era of zoot suits and wingtip shoes. They felt the audacious, confident demeanor of the 1930’s jazz scene reflected the attitude of today’s elite ballers. Together they developed a shoe with finely crafted details, premium materials and customization options like no other basketball kicks before.
The wingtip on the toe-box has tight double-stitching and perforations in the shape of an ‘M’ for MJ himself. The wingtip inspiration extends on the side panel, heel and tongue with dress-shoe finished leather with brogue perf detailing. Thin lines throughout the midsole were inspired by MJ’s “Black Cat” nickname, serving as scratch marks.
A low-cut sleeve gives a sleeker fit, more range of motion and less material for a lighter flight.
A high-cut sleeve provides added ankle comfort, stability and protection.
Three different midsole cushioning options allow you to dominate the game in your own style.
The “Fly Around” midsole is for you speedy perimeter players. This is our most responsive offering with forefoot foam and heel Zoom Air.
If you’re looking to take to the sky, the “Fly Over” has responsive Zoom Air in the forefoot but rocks an encapsulated Air Sole unit in the heel for soft landings.
For the power player who owns the paint, the “Fly Through” insole is your ride of choice, with a full-length encapsulated Air Sole for the ultimate in impact protection.
The outer shell features numerous performance innovations including the debut of Jordan’s own true-carbon weave shank-plate. Stronger than steel, Flight Carbon offers truly superior midfoot stability. The traction pattern gives you grip where you need it most, and goes light on low-tread areas to reduce the shoe’s overall weight. You’ll also notice the traction squares are slightly raised on the key pressure points of the sole.
